Gemware has provided IT solutions to South African businesses since 1993. Back then, DOS development was the norm, and Gemsafe was developed as a gemstone and diamond inventory control solution. Since then technology has developed ever quicker, and although the internet has opened the door to web-based and cloud computing, there are still many areas in South Africa with limited internet access. Gemware provides hybrid desktop/web-based solutions to cope with limited or sporadic internet access.
Currently, Gemware continues to develop and support 3 stand-alone systems:
- Guest Suite – a central reservations and property management system for small to medium enterprises.
- ShopKeeper – an integrated point of sale and inventory control system for small to medium enterprises in the liquor trade.
- BarKeeper – a fully integrated point of sale and inventory control solution for small to medium on-premise liquor sales.
