TERS-Helper

Under the Covid-19 lock-down, UIF is offering assistance to employees through its TERS scheme. This is to enable employers to claim on behalf of employees and thus alleviate the workload on UIF.

While the scheme has helped many employers and employees since its inception it is quite a complicated process. It involves uploading a comma-delimited (csv) file, after the user makes a few changes to the Control Panel formatting settings. These changes may affect the running of critical software on the pc, so the changes may need to be reversed after uploading the file. The process is complicated further by the user having to ensure that each field in the csv is formatted exactly as per the UIF example file.

TERS-Helper compiles the csv in exactly the right format, without the need to change any settings on the pc. Ideally it should be used for SMMEs with 1-50 employees, and can be used for multiple enterprises.

Once the employer and employee data have been captured, it should take no longer than 2 minutes (for a small enterprise with 4-6 employees) to export the csv file. Then all the user has to do is upload the file to the UIF/TERS website.

Please note: This is a simple executable file, and will only run on Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit) and Windows 10 (32- or 64-bit).
